I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. We started with simple things: establishing my usual menu and slightly increasing physical activity. I say “we” because Daro has been with me every step of the way. I also had one condition: I’m not a gym person. After the initial assessment, Daro proposed a nutrition plan and a movement regimen (yes, exercises in the comfort of my home, using resistance bands twice a week). The goal wasn’t to turn into an Apollo or pump up muscles, but to help my body fight insulin resistance.

With consistency, an easy-to-follow routine, and Daro’s unwavering support, things started changing drastically. The weight is melting off, measurements are shrinking, and my confidence is growing. My colleagues are actually jealous. I’ve started changing my wardrobe, and even my wedding ring is too big now, so I borrowed my spouse’s.

More importantly, I feel comfortable in my body again. Physically, I feel like a 20-year-old. I didn’t think that at 45-46 years old I would manage to feel so active and in shape again. As Daro says, this is a race with one participant — it could be your best friend or your worst enemy: yourself. The main rules in my race are: consistency, mindful eating, and routine.
